What are your office hours?

9am - 5pm, Monday - Friday.

Can I call you if I need something?

Of course! However, scheduled calls are preferred, so that more of my time can be spent efficiently designing your project. Email is  ideal.

What type of projects do you work on?

Here’s a link to my design portfolio, which will give you an overview of my experience. Generally, I help my clients with illustration, branding, magazines, brochures, motion graphics, postcards, digital ads, print ads, custom graphs, mailers, reports, presentations, infographics, logos, icons, and more.

I need my project yesterday! Can you do a quick turn?

Probably! A rush fee may be applied, depending on the details. Let’s talk.

What is my role in the design process?

My goal is to listen to my clients from the start. I encourage you to bring any samples, color combinations/swatches, and ideas you may have to help me get an idea of style and needs before starting work. During the design process, you will be asked to review and approve designs at key benchmarks along the way.

What is the difference between a JPG and PDF and EPS?

Here’s an outline for different file types that we will work with:

PDF: Great for viewing proofs and for sending final documents to the printers. You will see a lot of these from me. Can be saved in varying resolutions, and are easy to share

JPEG: Great for photos that are printed or online, depending on the resolution. Also social media graphics. Be sure not to scale this up to a larger size than supplied or the file will pixelate

EPS: This is the best file type for logos as is what's called a Vector format. That basically means it can be scaled up infinitely without losing quality as it doesn't use pixels in the same way a photograph would.

PNG + GIF: Great for websites as the file size is small and can have a transparent background. However, it won't scale up, the same as a jpg won't, and you'll also probably find it's only a low res screen resolution so try to avoid using in print. GIFs have the added bonus of being able to display animation/motion

PSD: A layered Photoshop file. These can be quite large, but are useful if you need to adjust a photograph

What is the best way to share large files with you?

Whatever works best for you. Please note that I do not monitor shared Google or Dropbox folders. (I have my own filing system to keep up with!) If you do not have a preferred method, you can always drop them into this Google Drive, and let me know that you did. I’m also a fan of Firefox Send.

How do I know if my image’s resolution is any good?

Zoom in close on the image. Do you see large block squares of color right away, or is the image smooth until you get very far into the image? The more detail in the image, the better it will look. Generally, if the image was taken on a phone, the resolution will be too low for our project. Not sure? Just ask me!

What will I be charged?

My hourly is $75, since many of my clients keep me on call for small and large projects throughout the year. However I’m happy to create project proposals/estimates custom to your budget.

How long will my project take?

Let’s make a schedule! Send me a due date, and I’ll outline milestones.

When will I be invoiced?

Invoices go out on the first business day of each month. Please let me know if you ever have a question about billing or need an update on time/billing. Invoices are due 14 days from issue date, but if your accounting requires a different timeline I’m happy to adjust the due date.

Who owns the artwork at the end of the project?

If you paid for it, it’s yours.

Can you build my project using Microsoft Word?

What is a Microsoft Word?

What program(s) do you use?

InDesign will be doing most of the heavy lifting for your project, but I also utilize other Adobe Creative Suite programs (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects), along with upcoming design programs like Affinity Designer.
