Do you have the Criterion version of Crumb?
I was always a little disappointed by the DVD I had of Crumb. Really bad cover. Cheap design. No extras.
The Criterion version arrived in the mail yesterday, and I’m so grateful it was made.
The packaging in perfect. The sound and video is so much better than the original DVD.
The commentary by Terry Zwigoff and Roger Ebert is very enlightening.
AND THE EXTRAS: Robert and Aline a mall, Cheap Suite Serenaders Performance (R. Crumb solo!!), and R. Crumb’s response to “How Do You Define Great Art?”.
I’m not the biggest fan of Robert Crumb’s stories. But, for me, he set the template for what it means to be a visual artist.
"God, I hate people. Jesus."
