I was 13 years old when Tonya Harding made figure skating dangerous. In 1994, she and Nancy Kerrigan were all over the TV.
I, Tonya—written by Steven Rogers, dramatizes this time period using actual interviews with Harding, her husband and various other shady actors.
It's a funny movie but also very sad. I was reminded of my grade school classmate Tanya, who unfortunately shared Harding's hairstyle, fleeing from the school bus in tears. Bullies are the worst.
Visit the theater! It's three Oscar nominations have given it an extended release.
